Clifford J. Schob, MD

Dr. Clifford J. Schob is a highly skilled board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder and knee. Dr. Schob is a committed physician who’s compassion, dedication, knowledge and ability to explain each phase of the injury and recovery makes him extraordinary.

Dr. Schob trained at the finest institutions in the country. He attended Robert Wood Johnson Medical School through the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He was the Chief Resident in Orthopaedic Surgery at Long Island Jewish Center. Dr. Schob also spent a year of advanced fellowship training in sports medicine at the prestigious American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham Alabama, with internationally respected sports medicine expert Dr. James Andrew and Dr. William Clancy, the pioneer of the surgical technique for modern ACL and PCL ligament reconstruction.

Dr. Clifford Schob has been named Top Doctor for the last 10 years in the New York Metro Area and New Jersey.

Dr. Schob holds over a dozen publications, as well as presentations and lectures surrounding cutting edge techniques involving sports medicine and orthopaedic related injuries.

Dr. Schob is the founder of Comprehensive Orthopaedics, located in Millburn, NJ where he surrounds himself with over 14 highly skilled and compassionate staff members.

Dr. Schob’s practice focuses on all aspects of Sports Medicine and arthroscopic surgery. In addition, he provides fracture care and is an advocate of providing non-operative counseling in preventative orthopaedic medicine. He also treats of accident victims and injured workers.

Dr. Schob specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle, ligament reconstruction of the knee, shoulder stabilization procedures for instability and dislocation, rotator cuff problems from bursitis to rotator cuff tears.

Dr.Schob implements up-to-date and latest techniques of arthroscopic surgery. This type of surgery, which uses fiber optic pencil-thin camera, can reduce skin and muscle incisions and facilitate rehabilitation and a faster return to activities.

Daniel B. Richmond, MD

Dr. Daniel Richmond is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery. Upon completion of his undergraduate degree from Franklin and Marshall College, Dr. Richmond attended medical school at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where he also served as Chief Administrative Resident. He completed a fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at The Bone and Joint Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio. During his training, Dr. Richmond gained experience participating in the care of high school, collegiate, international and professional athletes. He is currently a high school team physician and involved with youth sports.
Dr. Richmond’s primary areas of interest include disorders of the knee and shoulder. He has subspecialty expertise in knee arthroscopy, knee ligament reconstruction, fracture surgery and knee replacement surgery. In the shoulder, Dr. Richmond has vast experience in the arthroscopic treatment of rotator cuff disorders, shoulder instability, as well as, fracture fixation and joint replacement surgery. In addition to the knee and shoulder, Dr. Richmond is experienced in the treatment of a variety of orthopaedic trauma and fractures. He also has specialized training and performs arthroscopic surgery on the hip, elbow and ankle joints. As a former athlete, Dr. Richmond understands injured athlete and the importance that proper rehabilitation plays in the recovery of orthopaedic patients.
In addition to cutting edge surgical techniques, Dr. Richmond has a particular interest in the non-operative treatment of overuse injuries, as well as, mild to moderate degenerative joint disease. He believes that effective communication is an important component to successful patient care. The patient should understand the etiology of their particular problem, as well as the treatment rationale. This treatment usually encompasses modalities to reduce inflammation, such as injection therapy, modification of activities and specific rehabilitation to improve conditioning. When employed properly this treatment can often get patient back to function sooner and without surgery.
Dr. Richmond has been in practice at Comprehensive Orthopaedics and Sports Medicines since 1998 where he and his partner, Dr. Clifford Schob, lead a team of skilled and compassionate staff members.
